Annabelle's Tubes

This morning Annabelle got her tubes. We woke her up at 7:30 and headed to the Ohio Surgery Center (the same place Adelyn got her tubes.) Since Adelyn just got hers a few weeks ago, everything was very familiar. The same doctor did the procedure as did Adelyn's and so we felt comfortable about everything.

One of my friends sent me this verse this morning and I LOVED it and it sincerely spoke to me this morning. It's Isaiah 41:10, "Do not be afraid for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Also, yesterday, this one spoke to me and I wrote it down to take it with me this morning but then forgot and it was neat because then my friend sent me the Isaiah one. God is good. The verse from yesterday was Hebrews 13:5b, it's one I have read so many times but it spoke to me in a different way yesterday. Don't you love it when that happens. It says, "I will not in any way fail you, nor give you up, nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake you nor relax my hold on you. Assuredly not!"

I was however a little nervous about two things. The first being Annabelle couldn't have anything to eat or drink from when she woke up until 9:00am. She really did ok. She asked me a few times for something to drink but I distracted her with colors, stickers etc (hence the picture above.) The other thing I was a little nervous about was how she would handle coming off the anesthesia since Adelyn had such a hard time with that. Annabelle was pretty funny, very fussy and crying, but did tell me I had two faces, which we laughed and laughed about. Oh and when they gave her her sedative before the surgery, she was hilarious. We took a video of her, she was extremely giggly and funny but I don't think I'm gonna post it. I might change my mind but Idk.

We made it; both girls have tubes! I hope and pray this continues to improve our lives around here! Annabelle is a little trooper. She did great and I was proud of her.

The End of Dance Camp

Today was our last day of dance camp. It really ends tomorrow but today was our last day because Annabelle gets her tubes put in at 9:00 am tomorrow. The girls had SUCH a great time today at dance camp (in case the pictures don't tell the story.) I was soooo proud of them, especially Annabelle for how brave she was!! Tonight when I was putting her to bed, she told me that she wants to be a ballerina and wear pink and do peroets. (sp?) It was the cutest!!!! I think she would be a great dancer but then again I know she would be great at anything she does! Adelyn had a good time too and really smiled and laughed a lot. I'm so glad we decided to do dance camp again this year!!

Tomorrow Annabelle gets her tubes. It has been a crazy crazy crazy week but I pray that these tubes will make at least our ear problems and possibly Annabelle's immune system better!! Tonight I explained to her that she was getting her ears fixed and going to see the doctor. She understood just fine...the hard part will be not giving her any food or drink until after 9 tomorrow. Pray she does well with all of it, will you? I know God is in control. I am also praying diligently that Annabelle's staff goes away for good. Long story but the issue needs prayer badly.

The end for tonight.

Giving Thanks/ Lately

I totally forgot Thankful Tuesday! I am totally thrown off by trying to get back on track from being out of town, Memorial Day, and Annabelle having strep/scarlet fever/ an ear infection.Yesterday, after Carmyn and I took AB to the doctor, I was a little discouraged. I told her we should start thinking of things we were thankful for and it really did help a lot! Maybe that is why God says to do it so much in the bible!

So, I am going to post our pics from lately while I write what I'm thankful for.

1) THE SUN has been shining in Marysville!!

2) The time we got to spend w family this past week.

3) Adam being off work Monday.

4) God giving me Jer 29:11 to claim for my family today!

5) A great talk Adam and I got to have last night.

6) God's amazing unending unfathomable grace He supply's me every.single.day.

7) Carmyn.

8) How great Hand & hand has taken care of us. AB's appointment w the ENT!

9) My sweet girls and the joy they bring to my heart!

10) My big news from this post that our friends Sam and Kim are adopting a baby in July!!!!!!!! Huge prayer request answered!!!!!

Fun with Pipe Cleaners & more...

We are a little bored these days so we decided to make these flowers out of coffee filters and pipe cleaners. This was the craft in the 3-5's class this Sunday and I knew Ab would like it!

I had a feeling Annabelle had another ear infection and so I took her to the doctor today and what do you know.....an ear infection. I'm so over ear infections.

I was just having a little bit of a hard time today, mostly because I haven't have a lot of sleep lately...I think. :)haha So, Adam sent me these verses:

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.

Philippians 4:19
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

I love that last one! God promises to supply ALL my needs!

I have to leave this post on a funny note. It might be a "have to be there" kind of story idk. Last night Adelyn was sleeping in our bed (another thing I said I would never do! Never say "never" right?!) Anyway, Adelyn was in our bed playing (she does this because it hurts to lay her head down) so all of the sudden I smell poo and I said to Adam, "You smell that?" He gets up to get the wipes and the diaper and I said to Adelyn, "Ok, Ad we are going to change your diaper." She instantly pretends that she is asleep. It was hilarious. I said, "Adelyn, we know you are pretending." She wouldn't get up! haha! I can't wait until she talks. It is going to be so funny what she says I bet!

Like I've said before, being a mom is hard but so worth it. I love those girls. I'm not sure anyone else could wake me up in the middle of the night and make be laugh so hard!

ENT Visit & the ZOO!

Yesterday, after Adelyn's ENT appointment we  planned on going straight to the zoo.
I figured either way the appointment went, we would have fun at the zoo. I guess I will go through the appointment yesterday first. I asked God like I do through hard times to give me a scripture especially
relating to that day. He ALWAYS does this for me. It is such a blessing because it is a fresh word from God that I can cling to and recite again and again if I start to think "Ashley" thoughts and no Spirit thoughts.
Yesterday morning, He gave me Psalm 27: "with God, I'm fearless, afraid of nothing and no one...when all hell breaks loose I'm calm and collected. I'm asking God for one thing...to live with Him in His house my whole life long. I'll contemplate His beauty. I'll study at His feet.
That's the only quiet, secure place in a noisy world...listen God I'm calling at the top of my lungs: 'be good and answer me'...I'm seeking you so please don't hide from me now. You have always been right there for me, don't turn Your back on me now...stay with God! Take heart. Don't quit. I'll say it again, stay with God." It was just the perfect word for me.
The ENT was wonderful. He asked me a couple questions and then looked in one of her ears and said it was full of fluid. He was adamant about doing tubes immediately. He explained them to me briefly while Adelyn was running around like a maniac trying to push all the buttons in the room. :)
He took me to the scheduling desk and told me that the next day he operates is on Wednesday. He stood there while the nurse called to see if he had any openings. He didn't. He told the nurse that they owed him and favor and that he needed to get this little girl in on Wednesday and they did it!! PTL!
What an answer to prayer for so many reasons. Mainly because Ad is now resistant to the only antibiotic she can take which is omnicef, so there are no other options for us right now. She is pretty crabby most of the day especially since now she cannot take any ibuprofen until after the surgery is over.
God is good isn't He. He did answer my prayer, in a way that I knew it was Him. He is so good to us. I read in my book that "God doesn't withhold anything from us unless He has something better!" May I truly believe this with all of my heart!!
(There is a little more to this story which I will have to save for later! :) )
We had soooooo much fun at the zoo. Adelyn just ran and ran and ran her little heart out. She loved it and Annabelle loved to see the animals!

Adam also really enjoyed it. This was her very first time to the Columbus zoo and I had no idea how much he liked zoos but you could tell her was really into it and it was cute seeing him explaining all of the animals to the girls. He is such a great "girl dad."
The story of the zoo is a neat one as well! Someone in our church gave us a family zoo membership for a year for free and they did it anomalously. It was a HUGE blessing because we had talked about getting one and then decide that we could not afford it right now and then there it was!
I think this picture of me and Adelyn is funny. It looks like we are actually right next to the gorilla.
There was even a little baby gorilla or monkey at the zoo. It was the cutest thing I saw all day!
Last night, we did not have anything to do and so we went to Walmart and let the girls look at the fish.
They love the fish. Annabelle is in such a cute little stage. She wanted to know that there was a mommy and daddy fish in every little compartment. She said all the babies needed mommies and daddies.
After that, we came back and let the girls play outside with some chalk. They LOVE drawing with chalk. Adelyn tries to eat it a lot but if I can keep her from doing that it's great!
Also, last night when we were eating dinner we said a prayer for the food and right when we said "Amen" Adelyn said it too. It was so clear. We thought it was funny.
She has really stopped talking all that much and the doctor said it was because it sounds like she is underwater in her head to her. So, I always wonder if she can hear us. I will be so glad when I don't have to wonder about that anymore!
Overall, we had a great Friday! Today, we went and did a photo shoot for one of my friends in town.
I made the girls some tutus and they were sooo cute. I can't wait to post about that tomorrow!
Lots to do and not much time!!

I can't wait to visit the zoo all summer. I am extremely thankful that the weather has been so nice here lately. It most definitely makes a difference for me!
