This past week we.....

I haven't been up on my blogging lately. I feel like a lot has been going on (which is pretty unusual for us :) ) and I have not blogged about any of it. I might blame the fact that I am completely addicted to the Twilight series?!?!

On another note, our washing machine is broken. I'm kinda freaking out, it has been about a week and we found out the news that it is officially broken and I anticipating putting all my clothes in the bath tub and washing them...seriously! I do a load a day so I am majorly behind!!

Anyway, These pictures are all from the past week. I already blogged about Presley's birthday on Saturday but these are the other pictures from this past week. I cannot tell you what day these things happened; the days seem to run together :) but I wanted it all to here for my own documentation.

This past week....

Adelyn started pulling up on things (no crawling yet though...so close but no yet)..

I took both of the girls to get mine and Annabelle's hair cut. I almost wish someone would have had a video camera there. It was hilarious; I knew I was crazy doing it but I did it anyway and I don't regret it bc like I said, it was hilarious me trying to keep up with these two!!

This was Annabelle's second haircut. She did great until Sarah (the hairdresser) got out the flat iron and then she freaked out because she is scared of steam...haha. You have to know Annabelle; she is scared of EV-E-RY-THING! She's just really girly like her mommy! :)

There has been a lot of sister loving at our house.

Adelyn had her allergy testing for all of her issues.

It was really hard for me to be there but I also couldn't imagine me not being there so Adam kept Annabelle and I went with Adelyn. We got the best news!!! She is not allergic to milk or at least she does not have a strong allergy to it which is great! She did not come up strongly allergic to anything; we were absolutly thrilled and feel like our prayers have been answered about our sweet baby!

My sweet mom sent the cutest little cheerleading uniforms for the girls!! She lives in Arkansas so it is easier for her to get these things! I can't wait for them to wear them Saturday!!!

We also attended our friend Caleb's first birthday party. He is the cutest and his mom is one of my favorite people.

She made this cake. Isn't it aweosme!?!

Annabelle loved eating the cupcakes of course...

and Adelyn just liked playing with someone else's toys!

We have been at the park almost every day because the weather has been sooo nice!!

Annabelle wants the baby to swing in this swing so I just push her a tiny little bit. It is funny though to see such a little baby in this swing.

Annabelle has become obsessed with hats and she loves wearing them backwards.

We have been to the mall; one of our favorite places; we love to go and walk around and hang out.

We also went to our town's (yes I said town bc it is one) new ice cream shop. It was very very yummy!

We have also killed 4 hugo spiders in our house. It gives me the creeps even typing this!

Annabelle is loving her sidewalk chalk. We wrote all the letters on the sidewalk and she goes around and points to them and says what they are; it is soo cute.

Annabelle has also always been a biter but this week she bit Adam for the first time and it tore his skin. I know terrible picture. It was sad and Adam was mad. (Notice her magic wand in the picture though...haha :) )

We have throughly enjoyed playing outside as much as we could.

and of course we took our visit to McDonalds to play and eat ice cream and such!

What a whirlwind of a week it has been. We don't have much planned for the weekend except me figuring out how I am going to get my laundry done oh and maybe painting a dresser I bought at a yard sale oh and of course reading Twilight!! So excited that tomorrow is Friday and Adam is off work!

Writing all of this has made me realize how much I enjoy the day to day with the my family. I am truly blessed; may I never forget it.

Normal Lifeness

I know all my pictures are starting to look the same. These particular pictures have a funny story though. I tried to take a good one of the girls in their white dresses (the ones they ore to the beach) and I could not get them to cooperate etc so I took off their dresses and they were so happy...ha!!

Today when I picked Annabelle up from the church nursery she was a little warm but I thought that she had just been playing super hard...well....when we got home she was still warm so I took her temp and she had a fever. she took her nap fine but was super clingy and still had a fever after she woke up. Anyway, Annabelle threw up tonight, poor thing. I felt sooo bad for her; she has only thrown up twice before this but this time it really scared her. :(

Soooooooo....I hope Annabelle gets better SOON!! I hope we all don't get sick (especially Adelyn!!) and I hope we don't get cabin fever from having to stay inside while she gets well!

OH and I want to update everyone on Adleyn. This past week she sort of turned a new leaf. I mean she has been doing better not spiting up as much but she actually slet once from 8-5:30 without waking up!! (Of course I woke up to check on her etc...such is the life of a mother!) But, we were soooo excited and since then she has had some bad nights but some good too! We are so glad that it seems like she is getting better!!! Yah for that and getting so sleep!!

Happy half year birthday Adelyn!

I really cannot believe you are already 6 months old Adelyn! We are so extremely happy that all of your testing has come back negative and that you are doing so much better. We know that God is healing you and answers the prayers of his people and your little life is a testimony to that!

You are doing so much lately. You have been sitting up since right after your five month birthday but now we can sit you down anywhere and leave you because you are so strong and can sit so well by yourself without falling over! You LOVE your paci which we think is funny because you didn't take a paci until you were about two months old!

Your sister Annabelle loves you so much; she gives you hugs and kisses all day long.

You weigh about 16 pounds and are getting heavier every day, (I think it's because of all the oatmeal we put in your bottles for your tummy.) but I think your rolls are the cutest thing I've ever seen!

You are trying to grab everything and you study things like you can see right through them. You look people in the eyes and try to get people's attention. You smile at almost everyone you see.
Mommy is so proud that she can leave you in the church nursery and that you don't cry for her and that the workers always say you have been so good. :)

You are still a daddy's girl. Your daddy makes you the happiest of anyone in the world.

We celebrated your 6 month birthday on Father's Day and we had some cupcakes. Mommy was mean and didn't give you any this time but she promises you can have some cake at your next real birthday party!

Adleyn you are just the sweetest, most cuddly baby. We love you so much and couldn't be happier that you are feeling so much better!!! We just love watching you grow and learn and we can't wait to see what you are going to do next!

hilarious!

Today we went to the Bunny Park in Dublin. I love this park a lot; it is like the water park we went to in Memphis except there is always a TON of people there. We only stayed a little while but Annabelle had a blast and I actually got a little bit of much needed sun on my body. :)

I have noticed in the 18 months I have lived in Ohio that moms here do not dress there little girls up like moms do in the south. For example, bow are not a big deal at all, to see a little girl with a bow on is a rarity around here. My family then sticks out like a sore thumb (ok, maybe not like a sore thumb but sticks out like something better like a pretty flower in the midst of weeds :) ) Wait, not that Ohio people are weeds because they are not at all. We are just different, one is not better than the other just different. I hope you get my point without me being offensive. ANYWAY, all this to say, Annabelle is at this park in a tutu bathing suit with a bow on...yeah, she got some funny looks but I thought she looked absolutely adorable!

I hung out with Adelyn on the towel most of the time.

Look at that smile

When we got home, Adam was holding Adelyn in his lap and Annabelle just jumped in his lap too and just kept hugging and kissing Adelyn. It was so sweet!

Ok, now to the title of the post. This morning when we put on the girls bathing suits I noticed that Annabelle's was a little tight and Adelyn's was loose but I just thought I had gotten Annabelle an 18 month and since she is almost 21 months that she was already growing out of it and I thought I had gotten Adelyn a big size so she could grow into it. So, a few minutes ago I was hanging up the wet bathing suits to dry and noticed that the pink bathing suit (the one Annabelle was wearing) is a 9 month bathing suit and the yellow one (Adelyn was wearing) is a 18-24 month suit! The funny thing is that Annabelle wore the 9 month one well! ha! How funny! I seriously feel like I am crazy sometimes! I'm sure all mommies do sometimes :)

I wanted to document for myself and for those who have asked what all we are doing for Adelyn that I think is making a difference for her. First, I am putting her on her tummy to sleep. The GI doctor informed me that you NEVER put a reflux baby on their back to sleep. Who knew? I thought all babies were supposed to sleep on their backs but the doctor explained that this makes the reflux worse. I believe this is why she has had the most trouble at night. She said the options were to put them on their left side (because the left side is supposed to help with digestion) or their stomach (but she couldn't officially suggest that, we all know why.) We also started putting her on a sleep wedge with two positioners on the sides. I feel like the slight incline helps her keep her food down better. Second, we are adding oatmeal to every single bottle. Adelyn was intolerant to rice. Adleyn's bottles are supposed to be the consistency of mustard in order to help her keep her food down. They suggested a tbsp per ounce but we found that that makes Adelyn extremely constipated so we do not do add that much oatmeal. Third, we keep her upright for at least 30 minutes after she eats in order to help her digest her food. It helps that she sits up now! Forth, we give her Prevacid in the mornings and we give it to her and then wait thirty minutes to give her her bottle. This has helped her dramatically!! Also, we give her Zantac at night before she goes to sleep. Fifth, Adelyn gets constipated often. It is almost as if her whole digestive tract just does not work exactly right just yet, so, we give her a glycerin suppository if she has not had a bowel movement in two days. This gives her drastic relief when she needs it. Constipation associated with gas is and was most definitely one of the issues that caused the sleeping problems but is better now that we know better how to handle it. This is all I can think of at the moment but I know there is more. If I think of more I will be sure to write it. I really hope something in this list helps you reflux mommies out there that have contacted me. I appreciate your support so much! God bless you and your sweet babies!
