Yummy Ice Cream and more

We had such a great time at church as usual! My mom kept the girls for me while I practiced singing and it was so nice not to have to watch them and practice at the same time!

After church, we came home and ate chicken parmesean (Adam's favorite right now :) ), sweet potatoe fries and brocolli. I wanted him to have one of his favorite meals before he went to Florida for the week.

After lunch, I took him to the airport. I was sad he was leaving but again I'm glad my mom could come to help! We took these pictures outside after church. My straightener is broken :( and I have been too cheap to buy another one so my hair looks crazy but oh well!

Annabelle turned 21 months on Sunday and I need to get a post up about it. She is doing and understanding soo much these days! Also, I LOVE this blue dress from Anita. I think it's a 12 month dress but she is so small it fits really well. Oh and she loves her bear these days; it's so cute!

For dinner that night we went to an awesome ice cream place in Dublin called Grater's Ice Cream. It was sooo good! I got Blackberry chip whch sounds so weird but it was really really good. Annabelle got cookies and cream. She only took a few bites of course but I think she liked it! They put little eyesy on hers; it was cute!

Annabelle doesn't look happy in this picture but she is, this is just the face she makes when she eats something cold. :)

I love this picture of Annabelle. She is having so much fun with her Lala! :)

More fun to come! My friend Kimberley comes in town on Monday! yeah! I love houseguests!!

Date Night!

On Saturday night my sweet momma kept the girls so Adam and I could go on a date!

Before we went we attempted to get a family picture. I put all the pictures on here because I just think it is hilarious that it is near impossible to get a picture of everyone looking at the camera and of course I don't even think about everyone smiling! :)

I tried to get a some pictures of the girls. Sweet little Adelyn!

This is my attempt at a picture of Annabelle. She is so funny! I brought a snack and juice out to see if that would help with the photo shoot.

precious kisses

Adelyn just loves the camera these days.

the girlies

me and Adam. I think he's so cute!

We went to Macaroni Grill because we had a gift card there which made it even yummier and then we went to see a movie!! I always want to tell the waitress at Macaroni Grill my story about going into labor the night after I went there to eat with both my babies but Adam wouldn't let me this time! He thinks that it is so weird that I like to tell that story! We had such a great time! I LOVE date nights! Thanks Mom!

Swimming and Tea Parties

My mom came in town last Wednesday during VBS and we are having so much fun! She is waking up in the night for me which is WONDERFUL!!! :) The other day while Adelyn was taking her morning nap we went outside to swim and we decided to get out the new tea set that sweet Anita sent us. Annabelle LOVED it! It kept her entertained for at least an hour and Brayden (our neighbor) really liked it too! I really like it when he comes to play because Annabelle really likes playing with him. He's the one that thinks Annabelle is his girlfriend; I'm not ready for that!!!

I am so behind on posting but I hope to catch up soon! We took the girls to the movies today to see Toy Story 3! They did so good! They sat there for over half the movie (with a little help from our friend m & m's, popcorn, and icees!) I can't wait to post the pics!

Living Hope's VBS

We had such a good week at VBS! Our church had 131 kids come through the doors this week (and we emphasize that we do not count numbers to say "yah us" but that every number equals a soul that could potentially need Christ!) We had 5 little kiddos come to know the Lord which is what it is all about! I worked registration and registered the 1st and 2nd graders and counseled a girl one day that came to know the Lord! It was so fun!! Annabelle and Adelyn had fun in the little nursery too! The last day Annabelle even got to eat a snow cone which is LOVED and was hyper for like an hour afterward! haha!! I really enjoyed getting to spend time with some of the people in my church without my kiddos! Also, the Kirby Woods team came with their awesome puppets and did puppet shows every day which the kids (especially Annabelle) looked forward to! Annabelle said "puppet" probably 50 times a day last week; it was so cute! Overall, it was a wonderful week; I was so excited that the Lord allowed me to lead someone to Him!

The best part of waking up...

I have been waking up early (explanation in this post) ok not that early but at 7 in order to spend time with God before the girls get up. I took a break the week I went to Memphis and by the time I got home I was such a mess. I can tell that waking up a little earlier is definitely what God wants me to do because it just changes my attitude for the the whole day.

So I'm not going to lie it is HARD work BUT I am truly beginning to love it! I wake up and make coffee and sit down and read my study while drinking my coffee and then by the time the girls get up I have a little caffeine in me and also have my head in the right place for the day or my focus on Christ. Believe me I am not bragging on myself; I could not get up if it were not for God's help. I pray every morning, Lord please give me the energy to get out of bed...I REALLY don't want to! Adelyn is still waking up in the night some and always takes one bottle sometime in the middle of the night. My thoughts are if I can wake up now with not getting a ton of sleep then I can keep this up when I do get sleep (again with God's help of course.)

I have been going through the life of Paul in my biblestudy and it has been so good to see and study his human side! I have learned so much from it, it is hard to even explain it all but I do want to explain Sunday's lesson. OK, I am just being honest here, Sundays are the hardest day for me to get up early because it is extra early because I get all ready before the girls get up so I can get them ready by myself and be there by 9. I was struggling getting up this Sunday but the Lord gave me the strength to get up and I am sooo glad he did. The main verse for the day was 1 Corinthians 2:3 "I came to you in weakeness and fear, and much trembling." Paul went to Corinth and he said that he did not speak with eloquence, superior wisdom, or wise and persuasive words "in order that people's faith may not rest on man's wisdom but on God's." The question at the bottom of the page said, "Have you ever had a lengthy time alone in which your mind 'ran away with you' with negative thoughts''? All of these things got me to thinking about my singing and how when I majored in music at Ouachita I was sooo beaten down and just quit music and was so defeated. I began thinking about how so many times when Adam has me lead the church in a song that the devil just gets all over me and tell me that I am not that good and that I am going to mess up and so on and so on. So, the next question in the study for the day was, "When's the last time you lost your confidence? Or when did you last have to do something that made you so nervous your hands shook?" Then it says, "The enemy would have enjoyed preventing Paul from ministering in Corinth becasue of feelings of inadequency, but Satan was unsuccessful." The next questions were "What about you? Has God ever used you at a time when you felt weak or had little to offer?" Satan would have loved to use the fact that I literally felt so defeated that I thought I would never sing again but God had other plans for me, I now lead worship every single Sunday and I can say that it has NOTHING to do with me! 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 says, "26Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29so that no one may boast before him. 30It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord."

I know I am not the best singer in the world but I am so glad the Lord has brought me through the journey I have been through to be able to praise Him and lead others in praising Him as well! I know God brought me through this so that I could not boast in my abilities. The end of the lesson for that day said this, " Oh beloved, God is faithful. Even when the enemy tries to batter us and lose confidence, God can steal the victory with a demonstation of the Spirit's power. In those times, God sometimes produces a harvest of fruit unlike any other. Those who have been touched are encouraged in a faith that does "not rest on men's wisdom but on God's power." (1 Corinthians 2:5) They end up seeing God and not us Hallelujah!!

I felt like that lesson was written JUST FOR ME! Don't you just love it when God does that and he let me read that lesson on a Sunday when I had to go and lead worship that morning for our church and let me just tell you, Satan was all over me that morning, telling me that I was no good, but the Lord kept bringing the scripture from the study up in my mind.

Proverbs 3:26, "The Lord is your confidence, firm and strong and will keep your foot form being snared."

Comparison Shots 6 Months!

These are the girls six month comparison shots. The left is Adelyn and the right Annabelle. I wish I would have blogged when Annabelle was a tiny baby like Adelyn; I had no idea blogging was so great back then!

Anyway, I think they look more alike than I thought they did when I get the pictures up side by side but as their mommy I still see their differences. Adelyn's eyes are definitely a different shape, her face is longer and Annabelle's rounder, Annabelle's head is bigger, their noses are different shapes and AB has her beautiful beauty mark on her forehead that Adelyn does not have. The similarities are their eyes, lips, ears, and smile. Now that Adelyn's hair is coming in we know it is going to be blond like Annabelle's. Adelyn's hair looks exactly like Annabelle's did at six months. I looove the little fuzzy just coming in baby hair. It's just so sweet!

I love putting their pictures up side by side. It just reminds me of how blessed I am to have two sweet, precious little girls. I read Megan and Brent's story today about baby Cohen and bawled my eyes out and it just put things in perspective for me about how hard I "thought" my day had been. I cannot imagine going through what they have been through. I'm so glad I found their blog and can now pray for them. Please pray for them too.

Happy half year birthday Adelyn!

I really cannot believe you are already 6 months old Adelyn! We are so extremely happy that all of your testing has come back negative and that you are doing so much better. We know that God is healing you and answers the prayers of his people and your little life is a testimony to that!

You are doing so much lately. You have been sitting up since right after your five month birthday but now we can sit you down anywhere and leave you because you are so strong and can sit so well by yourself without falling over! You LOVE your paci which we think is funny because you didn't take a paci until you were about two months old!

Your sister Annabelle loves you so much; she gives you hugs and kisses all day long.

You weigh about 16 pounds and are getting heavier every day, (I think it's because of all the oatmeal we put in your bottles for your tummy.) but I think your rolls are the cutest thing I've ever seen!

You are trying to grab everything and you study things like you can see right through them. You look people in the eyes and try to get people's attention. You smile at almost everyone you see.
Mommy is so proud that she can leave you in the church nursery and that you don't cry for her and that the workers always say you have been so good. :)

You are still a daddy's girl. Your daddy makes you the happiest of anyone in the world.

We celebrated your 6 month birthday on Father's Day and we had some cupcakes. Mommy was mean and didn't give you any this time but she promises you can have some cake at your next real birthday party!

Adleyn you are just the sweetest, most cuddly baby. We love you so much and couldn't be happier that you are feeling so much better!!! We just love watching you grow and learn and we can't wait to see what you are going to do next!
