This week is SHOW US YOUR LIFE kitchen edition by Kelly and so I decided to participate. After looking at some of the posts, I was like, "Wow!!!" I cannot even compete with how gorgeous some of the kitchens are BUT I LOVE my kitchen, mostly because my sweet husband put in many many man hours making it pretty for me!! :)
Our house was a foreclosure and no one had lived in it for a year when we bought it. We knew we were going to have to put in a lot of work but we were super excited about it because it is our first house!! These are the before pictures. First, Adam took up the linoleum floors and replaced them with hand scraped hard wood floors.
Next, he painted all the cabinets and replaced the existing counter tops with granite.
He also added crown molding to the cabinets; we got new appliances; we painted the room a pale green and the trim in our house white. We got a new sink and faucet,
and I decorated just a bit! :) My downstairs is all decorated in black and white patterns. I'm not sure now that I wouldn't rather have painted the cabinets white but if you know me you know I am a huge "black" fan and if they were white I'd probably wish they were black, hahahaha!! I am so thankful to the Lord for giving us this house; it is just perfect for our needs and our wants right now! I am also thankful for my wonderful husband who put in all the work!! :)

I love your kitchen and I LOVE your black cabinets!!! :) Matter of fact, after seeing your kitchen, I think I want to paint mine black!
Wow... that is impressive. Can he come and remodel mine? My husband helps me pull the oven out to clean behind it, that is about as far as he gets into the kitchen...ha
I love the black cabinets! Looks like completely different cabinets...so cool you refinished them, and the dark wood floors really pull it all together! Beautiful!
