AB's 1st haircut

On Monday I took Annabelle to get her first haircut! It was so fun for me and not sad at all like I thought it might be. Annabelle did soooo great! She looked a little confused but never once whined or cried! I was so relieved!

Sarah does Ryley's hair and it's always so cute so I knew she would do a great job with AB's hair! I had my iphone ready with Dora videos and we had snacks an bear ready too!

Sarah cut it an inch and then asked me what I thought and I told her a little more and so she cut another inch so overall Annabelle got her hair cut 2 inches. She put a little shape to it and it really did make a big difference.

I forgot my real camera (long and crazy crazy story for later) so all I had was my phone for pictures but I'm just grateful it has a camera in it. I was afraid she would cut her little curl off and that would be it for Annabelle and curls but I was wrong. Her hair bounced right back with a little curl on the end!

I didn't really get to get good shots of it that day but I got some the next day.

I just love it; she looks like such a little girl instead of a baby. I have such mixed feelings about that.

I am excited though that I can pull it back on the side with a bow and it looks super cute. This way we can avoid all the fights over Annabelle not wanting me to put little rubberbnds in her hair. :)

Overall Annabelle's first hair cut was such a pleasant experience; the only problem is that she is growing up way too fast!!!!

Giving up

"HAVE YOU BEGGED AND PLEADED WITH GOD FOR SOMETHING YOU ARE REALIZING YOU'RE NOT GOING TO GET? DO YOU SOMETIMES FEEL YOU MUST GIVE UP AND JUST LET THE LORD'S WILL BE DONE?? WE SOMETIMES FEEL AS IF WE'RE PLAYING TUG OF WAR WITH GOD. IN BITTER TEARS, WE SOMETIMES LET GO OF THE ROPE, TUMBLE TO THE GROUND, AND CRY, "HAVE YOU WAY, GOD! YOU ARE GOING TO DO WHAT YOU WANT ANYWAY."
PLEASE RECOGNIZE THAT GOD IS NOT PLAYING A GAME. HE WANTS TO SAY YES TO US SO BADLY. HE KNOWS HOW DESPERATELY WE WANT SOME OF THE THINGS FOR WHICH WE ARE ASKING. GOD DOESN'T JERK ON THE ROPE JUST SO HE CAN WIN. IN FACT, HE DOESN'T WANT US TO LET GO OF THE ROPE AT ALL. RATHER THAN TO SEE US DROP THE ROPE AND GIVE UP. HE SOMETIMES WANTS US TO HANG ON AND LET HIM PULL US OVER TO HIS SIDE.
GOD'S WILL IS ALWAYS BEST EVEN WHEN WE CANNOT IMAGINE HOW. SURRENDERING TO HIS WILL DOES NOT MEAN TO LOSE. ULTIMATELY, IT MEANS YOU WIN. GOD DOES NOT WANT YOU TO FEEL DEFEATED WHEN YOU REALIZE HE'S OVERRULED A DESIRE OF YOUR HEART. GOD IS NOT ASKING YOU TO GIVE UP. HE'S LEADING YOU TO GIVE OVER. KEEP HANGING ON TO THAT ROPE AND LET HIM PULL YOU OVER TO HIS SIDE. ONE DAY YOU'LL UNDERSTAND. AND YOU'LL SEE HIS GLORY."

This is from my Beth Moore study that I am doing in the mornings (when I'm not up all night...) but this was yesterday's message and it spoke so much truth into my life. Beth Moore just has a way with words; God has truly gifted her. I just wanted to post this because it spoke so deeply to me. I don't even feel like saying why. I just wanted to remember how great and profound this truth really is. I hope it speaks to you as well.

Going to the zoo to see the anmals and the things that they do!

Mom and I took the girls to the zoo last week. It was very breezy about 76 degrees and we were a little surprised by that but I would much rather it be like that than too hot or cold! The picture above is the best picture I got of the four of us...haha!

This was the first time I had taken Annabelle to the zoo where she really understood what she was looking at and it was super fun for me! I just wish Adam could have been there to see how excited she was. Also, the girls wore their elephant matching outfits because we were going to the zoo but I think the different colors of elephants really kin of confused Annabelle.

Here she is with her bear that she loves and I really love that she loves it.

Annabelle was scared to death of the ducks. haha. You have to know Annabelle to know how funny this is.

We saw...the hugest snake

bats

the sleeping monkeys (or the monkeys night night as Annabelle would say)

the rhinos

the elephants (AB really enjoyed seeing the baby elephant)

the fox

the tigers

in this picture Annabelle is scared of the paper tiger behind us. I think it is H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S that she is such a scardy cat when her daddy si such a dare devil, but I wonder where she got the scardy cat from?! haha.

the lions

the bees

The bears were Annabelle's favorite! I guess it is because she loves her little brown bear so much.

I am soo glad we went to the zoo and we got to see so many great animals close up!! What a great zoo day; I can't wait to go back with Adam.

Also, that day I put Adleyn in the Walmart cart for the very first time to ride in the front!!! Yeah Adleyn you are getting so big! I am so proud of you!!

Dance Camp

Yesterday was Annabelle's first day of dance camp. She cried a little and laughed and screamed (this is what she does when she is happy :) ) a lot! I think overall she really liked it. I was so excited to dress her up!! At the beginning of class we went around and introduced all the kiddos and the teacher complimented Annabelle on her pretty outfit. :)

My sweet friend Allie kept Adelyn while Annabelle danced and I was so glad that I did to have to watch both on the first day of camp!

Me and Annabelle on our way to the car to go to class!

Annabelle is learning how to sashay, gallop, touch her toes with her knees straight, stomp, point her toes, and how to have pointed and unpointed toes (or good and bad toes). I am so excited for her to be learning all these fun skills!! Yeah Annabelle! Maybe Annabelle will be a dancer one day and maybe not but whatever Annabelle decides to do I pray I always support her wholeheartedly and always be her biggest cheerleader!

Hair, Tea Parties, Pineapples, and Dance Camp

So tomorrow I am getting Annabelle's hair cut for the first time. I know, I know, it's probably not a big deal to you at all but to me it is. I have waited until now and have really enjoyed watching it grow and putting it in pigtails, ponytails, and half up but it is just time for a trim, not an all out cut, but a trim.

Annabelle still has another layer of baby bangs growing in and so I am for sure not getting bangs but the girl that cuts my hair said she could just trim it up and make it look cute so I decided it was a good idea. Annabelle's hair is always soo blond when we first wash it.

I took these pictures of her before bed on Saturday night because that is the one night a week that we wash and dry her hair. If it were up to me we would do it every day just because i love to dry and comb her hair and make faces with her in the mirror but Annabelle HATES to have her hair washed (and hates is an understatement, picture someone trying to throw themselves out of the bath tub etc...) So, we just stick to once a week.

Annabelle and her daddy

We got to spend all day on Saturday together as a family and we decided to go swimming in the am and Annabelle and Daddy had a tea party. What a good daddy! We stick to having tea parties outside for now because Annabelle spills the tea (or juice in this case) everywhere.

Also, yesterday I cut up my first pineapple. I am still trying to figure out why I think this is so cool. I was just so super excited about it! :)

I know the picture is fuzzy and you can't really tell but I got a ton of pineapple!

I know, I'm a dork!

I can't wait for tomorrow; my friend Kimberly is coming to visit and Annabelle starts dance camp! I hope she likes it! I am way too excited about it!!

The girls first trip to the movies!

On Tuesday my mom and I decided to be brave and take the girls to the movies. You have to know my mom to understand how much she adores going to the movies and she just couldn't wait any longer to share her love for movies with the girls! :)
She wasn't feeling like getting her picture taken that day so she took mine with the girls in front of the concession stand. We took them to Toy Story 3 but not before getting almost everything on the movie menu!! haha! We had hot dogs, a pretzel, a large popcorn, drinks, an icee, and m and ms; it cost 33 dollars and the girl that "rung us up" actually laughed at the total! We just decided if we were going to do it we were going to have to go all out!

Here is sweet Adelyn intently watching. I think she was a bit overwhelmed by the humongous screen.

Annabelle loved sitting in her own seat with her popcorn, fruit snacks and icee!

Adelyn liked playing with the popcorn. At one point she actually had her mouth on the rim of the popcorn. (She's teething.) It was HILARIOUS!!

They made it for about 90 minutes and then we had to leave. I still want to see the end of the movie though because the part I saw was so cute! After we got home we went outside to blow bubbles. Annabelle has to hold the wand herself. We have had a few tantrums about this and so my mom brought this bubble thing were she can't spill it. It was genious!

Me and sweet Adelyn. I sent this picture to Adam from my Iphone. He wanted me to send pictures everyday and I tried the best I could.

I sent him this one too! I hope she always loves to smile like this!

All and all it was a great day! It is now Saturday night and my mom left yesterday and I miss her sooooo much! Thanks for our fun trip to the movies momski; it is definitly something I will never forget!
