My dad and my step mom stopped by after the funeral I posted about a few posts ago. They were so sweet to drive an hour and a half to be here for a couple hours and then have to turn around and go back home.
This weekend, I also had the amazing privilege to take one of my friends, Mrs Marysville, Emily a cupcake because I am so proud of her for some things she has overcome and I wanted her to know. I just thought this picture was hilarious so I had to post it. :)
We had such a fun St Patty's Day. I didn't go all out this holiday like I really like to do because we had so much else going on this week but it was still so fun and special because our family got to spend time this weekend together.
Annabelle was begging Adam to hold his hand today in the car. So stinking sweet. :)
I also have been reading some GREAT stuff. Here is a little bit of it here lately:
{Beth Moore}
{Colossians 3}
Also, in our college group that Adam and I head up that meets at our house on Sundays after church we studied Partiality and Judging Others. I had such a great time studying these topics to lead discussion this week. I just had to share some things.
1 You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. 2 And we know that God, in his justice, will punish anyone who does such things. 3 Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God’s judgment when you do the same things? 4 Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? Romans 2:1-4
{Romans 2:1-4 on Judging Others}
“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.
“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? How can you think of saying to your friend,‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye. Matthew 7:1-5The most awesome thing about this week for me was that when I looked up the Greek definition of the word JUDGE {Krino} and God gave me the most amazing way to evaluate my own life on this topic:
7 Ways to Evaluate if you and I are JUDGING others wrongly:
1) Do I pick out, select, or choose people above other people?
2) Do I esteem, approve, or prefer people above other people?
3) Do I have and think about my opinions on what others are doing?
4) Do I determine, resolve or decree what others should be doing?
5) Do I pronounce my opinion of right or wrong about someone else's life?
Summoning them to trial to be examined and for judgement to be passed?
6) Do I try to rule or govern people?
7) Do I argue with people in a judgmental way or attitude-dragging people to a law suit.
