Love,

Matthew 5:43-48
"You're familiar with the old written law, 'LOVE your friend,' and its unwritten companion, 'Hate your enemy.' I'm challenging that. I'm telling you to LOVE your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best—the sun to warm and the rain to nourish—to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty. If all you do is love the LOVEable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that. If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that.
48"In a word, what I'm saying is, Grow up. You're kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you."

I have been remembering and forgetting off and on that it is THANKFUL TUESDAY because it's also a holiday! Thankful Tuesday means so many things to me now but I want to write about how thankful I am for God's love today.
Without His love for me I would be nothing. I explained to someone last night, God saved me once from hell but He continually saves me from myself and my sin and reaches out and drags me out of pits I put myself in and others put me in. Just as it says in my life verses:
Psalm 40:1-3
"I waited patiently for the LORD;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.
2 He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the LORD.
I am so thankful today for this God I speak of who continually loves me and without hesitation pours out His love and consistent compassion on me. I serve a good, good God. I am Thankful.
