Random Thoughts

1) This was one of the first really good Wednesday's we have had in a long time. Wednesdays = hard because we don't see Adam until after the girls are asleep. We had a record breaking 3 outings today and 2 planned for tomorrow!

2) I ran a little over 3.5 miles tonight without stopping for the first time in a year.

3) I want my old body back and I want it back for selfish reasons. I don't want to be the way I was for Adam or other people or even to glorify God with my temple but for myself and as I am searching areas of my life and motivations for why I do things I am struggling with this one big time! (This could be a whole blog topic!)

4) Adelyn slept last night from 8-3:30 and then till 6! Major improvement!!!! I love it when the babies start going to bed at 8 and I finally get some much needed "me" time.

5) My dad bought me a plane ticket to my brother's college graduation on May 8th and I am beyond excited that I am going to be able to go. It would break my heart not to be there and Adam doesn't understand this at all.

6) My friend Rachel is getting married July 17th and I am desperately trying to figure out a way to be there.

7) My devotion tonight was off the charts amazing! Hebrews 13:5 ..."I will never leave you or forsake you." The verses in Matthew 10:37-39 "HE who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me, and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life shall lose it, and he who has lost his life for my sake shall find it." Not even enough time to say everything about this but Wow! The first verse I needed so badly this week as a mother and the last verses were the ones that solidified it in Adam's heart that we needed to move to Marysville.

8) Being a mom is the most humbling thing I have ever and probably will ever do. I am constantly reminded day in and day out of my need for the Lord and His Spirit to work in me. (This sounds so churchy but I honestly mean it with all that I am.)

9) I miss Adam. He has been working so much latley to get ready for Easter Sunday. I can't wait until he is not stressed and can relax and hang out with us.

10) I met a lady from Bulgaria on the playground today who was so nice. I am asked her if she went to church anywhere and she said she didn't but her husband went to "Hope Living" or something like that...haha. I told her that is where I went and she seemed desperate for friends. She said she can't come this Sunday but will come soon and I think she meant it. I really wish I could have shared the gospel with her.

11) Our bible study was soooo good on Sunday night and I desperately want to write about it before I forget. It was on contentment.

12) Oh and I almost forgot!!! I have a new nephew as of today! Elisha Edgar Fisher!

Well, Adam is trying to sleep and I am bothering him typing so that's all for now....night!

Easter Bunny

So I forgot to post that while my mom was here we went to get our picture with the Easter bunny! There were no shots where they got Adelyn looking at the camera. I love how Adam looks like someone is forcing him to be there; he's a great sport! Oh and I took a picture of the picture if you couldn't tell; it's on my fridge.

Annabelle's face looks like it did in the Christmas picture! haha!!

Good day for Annabelle

It was a good day for Annabelle, here's why:

1) She got to play outside
2) While wearing her backpack like Dora
3) and mommy's sunglasses.
4) She got to snack on goldfish
5) and she had a strawberry icee. (It's on her shirt in case you were wondering where it was in the picture.)

You know it's a good day for Annabelle when she is absolutely filthy dirty at the end of the day!!

Sleeping and Not Sleeping

This is Annabelle on Sunday sleeping on Adam's lap. She woke up from her nap after just 45 minutes and so Adam brought her downstairs and here she is:

She looks like a little angel! (I'm not biased at all!) Here is another one of her awake.

Both of the girls have developed little colds. :( Adelyn is still having lots of trouble sleeping at night and by that I mean she is up at least 5 times in the 12 hour period (8 to 8) she is supposed to be sleeping.

I need major advice on crying it out or sleeping cures or something!! Any help, advice, thoughts are greatly appreciated!!

Happy 18 Month Birthday Annabelle!!

Sweet Annabelle is 18 months old today! She is talking away these days! She can say "woo woof", "meow", "moooooo", "quack quack","right", "momma", "daddy", "lala", "papa", "mami", "paw", "cheese", "juice", "milk", "water", "bow", "bath", "bubbles", "baby", "bear", "car", "diaper", "poo poo", "love you", and "please", "thank you", "your welcome", and "more" in sign language. I'm sure there are more that I cannot remember but I am so proud of all of Annabelle's new words! It seems like she learns more every day. Like I said in an earlier post, she looooves books and to wear her bows. She has also just discovered the world of dress up hence the outfit! Annabelle also loves to hug, kiss and play with her sister and turn around and dance in circles. Can't wait for the next six months with my toddler! (weird, she's not my baby anymore!)

Momski comes to town!

Soooo my Mom has been in town all week and let me just say, we had such an amazing time together! I had not seen her since January 1st and it had just been way too long! As those of you who have kids know, your relationship with your mom changes when you have kids or at least mine did. I suddenly realized what she had to do to raise me and just appreciated her a lot more!! Plus, when Momski comes to town I get a break! Yeah for breaks!!!! So here is a recap of our eventful time together!

SUNDAY
We went to church, took naps :), and then went to small group! It was sooo nice to have help with the girls on Sunday morning!

Annabelle loves her princess cup in the morning

MONDAY
I took sweet little Adelyn to the doctor to change reflux medicines, took a looooong and much needed nap and our outing was to Walmart to get groceries for the week and to Papa Murphey's for Pizza!!

On the way to the doctor
We had some fun with stickers :)

Shman and her string cheese

TUESDAY
We went to the mall to go shopping for Easter dresses! The girls got matching green dresses from my favorite brand "first impressions." I got a bright purple dress from The Limited! Can't wait to post pictures of our outfits! :) I wanted to get Adam a shirt to coordinate us but he absolutley refused and said he was wearing nothing special for Easter! (He loves that our church is casual and that's him so that's fine with me!)

Annabelle=obsessed with lip gloss

The little play place at the mall! She was loving it!

Funny face but she looooved looking at herself in the mirror with this headband on...haha

WEDNESDAY
We went to our Motherwise Bible Study. It was sooo good! Then, we all ate lunch and them mom gave me some money to get some spring clothes for me and the girls so off Adelyn and I went (I had to take her because I went to a mall that's 45 minutes away and I wanted to take my time instead of hurrying back to nurse!) Adelyn did so great! She loves to stroll so it was fun! Then, I came home and went walking with some ladies and raced off to youth group! I never get to go because I stay home with the girls so it was fun to see what Adam does on Wednesday nights.

THURSDAY
Mom, Annabelle, Adelyn and I headed to story time at the library only to find out that it was canceled so we went to a Chinese restaurant. Then, we came home, took naps with the girls, and then we went to Once Upon a Child and the mall! Annabelle got some really fun new stuff from Lala!

Annabelle hardly ever uses a paci anymore but with Lala here she wanted it more which is ok with me! Whatever works right?!
So kissable is right little AdelynSweet sleeping baby

and smiley baby

Annabelle at Once Upon A Child playing dress up and pulling her new backpack! How fun!
Annabelle also = obsessed with Dora!Annabelle and Daddy playing! She got a shopping cart at this store and loves it...pictures to come I'm sure!
FRIDAY
I spent the day cleaning, switching out winter and summer clothes (don't know why really though because it snowed all last night) and doing laundry etc while mom watched the girls. It was so nice to not have to clean at night when they are sleeping! Then, I said goodbye to my sweet Momski :(

Thank you Momski for such a wonderful visit! I cannot wait till this summer when she comes to stay for 2 weeks!

Date Night! Whoooohoooo!!!!!

Last night, Adam and I got to go on the first date we have been on in 3 months!!!!!! yah!!!! We simply cannot go on dates for many reasons and it has nothing to do with not making each other a priority. AAAnnnnnyyyywwwwaaayyy, my mom is here this week and she really wanted us to go on a date while she was here to babysit and so we just went out to dinner and it was sooooo nice. This is the first time I have been anywhere without a child (expect going to the grocery store) in three months!!! Wow!

I told Adam to pick where we were going and as our relationship goes, he gave me three choices: Panara Bread (my fav here!!), Chili's, or Mac Grill and guess what I picked Mac Grill! I looooooove Macaroni Grill! The night I went into labor with Annabelle Adam and I ate at Mac Grill and the night I went into labor with Adelyn we ate there too and both times I ate the same thing and I went into labor in the middle of the night at about 2 o'clock! Funny huh!

I always get the create your own pasta with whole wheat pasta, shrimp and grilled chicken, mushrooms, spinach, and brocolli with pesto sauce on the side! My mouth is watering just typing this!

Date night was the best time I have had in a really long time! Thanks Momski!

Us with Annabelle right before we left

Beautiful Blogger and Game

I was given this beautiful blogger award from Candace. We both lived in the same apartment complex in Memphis and yet hardly knew each other but we have become blog friends and I think she is so much fun and absolutely beautiful herself!

I am passing on this award to Terri! She has a beautiful blog and a too die for cute little boy named Knox! She also has a beautiful spirit about her! She and I attended the same college and although we weren't best friends, I adore her!

Also Candace is playing a little game on her blog and I decided to jump in for fun! The game is two truths and a lie.

1) I used to drive a Mercedes.
2) I at one time had blond hair.
3) I played competitive volleyball in high school.

So, the game goes like this, you post which you think is a lie of mine and then post on your blog two truths and a lie and I'll come and guess your lie! Fun huh?!? I'll post the answer soon!

Easter Sunday at Living Hope

I have to brag on my hubby for a minute! He is an awesome video maker person! :) Here is the promo video he did for our church for our Easter service! Our church, Living Hope launched one year ago on Easter Sunday so besides it being an awesome day because Jesus Rose and He lives!!!!! we also get to celebrate our church being in existence for 1 year! Thank you Jesus for both of these things!

Debt

Debt, debt, and debt was the topic of tonight. Proverbs 22:7 says, "The rich rule over the poor and the borrower is servant to the lender. Everyone knows that debt makes you a slave to the people that you owe. The Lord does not want us to be slaves to anyone or anything. He made us to be free.

One of the main points that stuck tonight is when Andy asked why we would even go into debt. Is is to keep up with the new best thing? It's funny because then we get the new best thing and that doesn't satisfy and so we go get the newest best thing and on and on and we become a slave to this and we are in major debt or maybe we aren't in debt but we are trapped. Are we doing this to impress for people that we don't even really care about because if we are then what is the point? The people that really care about us don't care what we have and don't have, they care about us! It all goes back to motives. Also, this makes us self centered which is one of Satan's best plows to keep us from focusing on God!

Self control has everything to do with everything. Proverbs 25:28 says, "Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control." Back in the day, walls to a city were everything; they kept all the good "things" in and the bad "things" out. A person who lacks self control has no boundaries; its almost like anything goes! This can be applied to soooo many things! I don't even have time to go into all of them but to say that I need some major self control in many areas and I am glad the Lord reminded me of this yet again because although I know this I deperatly need to be reminded!

I wish I could write more but to be honest, Adelyn was crying, I accidentally sat on my plate of food (don't even ask!) and Annabelle was going a little crazy and so I was not able to concentrate on this as much as I would have liked to! That's how it goes being a mom to two babies I guess, my mind is always divided!

Balanced

That is the name of the bible study that we are in on Sunday nights with our small group. I am finally sitting down to write about the last two weeks of the study! It is defiantly one of those studies in which I wish I could watch it over again!

First, I'll start with last week. 1 Chronicles 29 was the passage. It's long but all important.
"10 David praised the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,
"Praise be to you, O LORD,
God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting. 11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
12 Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
13 Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.
14 "But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. 15 We are aliens and strangers in your sight, as were all our forefathers. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope. 16 O LORD our God, as for all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name, it comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you. 17 I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things have I given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you. 18 O LORD, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel, keep this desire in the hearts of your people forever."

Verse 12 says wealth and honor come from you and you are the ruler of all things. David is testifying (for lack of a better more modern term) that God really gave him everything he had anyway! Verse 14 and 16 David is so excited that he can even give this much to God but he also knows that what he is giving to God, came form God. In verse 17 David says that none of the giving and building of the temple matters if the intent of the heart is no right, which is true for everything in life. David had such a great perspective! He was so wealthy and so giving to God and he wanted the things like his motivations to be pure because he knew that was what would matter when he stood before God one day.

The question Andy asked us last week to ask ourselves was, "How can I honor you with my money." He said don't think about what you can afford, as in, I can afford this so I must be honoring God with my money but truly humbling yourself and asking God if you are honoring God with your money.

Andy made a very good argument. Ok, I grew up in church and so I know that you are supposed to tithe. Andy said if someone let you borrow their car would you just take care of 10 percent of it? Well, no you woudn't and we are "borrowing" God's money while we are here on earcth, right? If we beleive everything we have is His then we are borrowing our money from God and we must be responisble and honor Him with all of our money and not just tithe 10 percent and feel like we have done our part. This was an eye openeing concept for me simply because I have never thought of concept before. It definfitly sheds a different light on what I spend my money on!

Another point he made had to do with habits or obsessions and if we go shopping once a week for however many hours, at the end of a year, how many hours would you have gone shopping? Was it for stuff you needed or for things to make you feel more secure and to keep up with the fashion that changes all the time? Does this honor God? I just have to say that this one was the hardest for me. I LOVE to shop and I love fashionable clothes. Now, luckily God has placed me in a marriage with a husband that keeps me accountable and I do not live anywhere never a mall and I have kids and it is impossible to drag them there. I know that shopping for me is not a sin but the questions I have to ask myself are ,"Does this shopping trip honor God with my time and money" and "What are my motives?"

Money like everything is not something that you can surreneder a little bit over to God. We hold on to the 90 percent that we "think" is ours. You must give this area all over to God besides it's His anyway! We don't do it bc we think God is going to take from us instead he wants to give to us!! He doesn't want our stuff but our heart

In the last part of the video last night he said, "Hurry up because time runs out! The older we get the mire we get it and the less time we have!"

So, I am in the process of asking God to teach me how to honor Him in everything I do but specifically with my motives for how I spend my money.

Happy 3 Month Birthday Adelyn

My sweet Adelyn turns 3 months today! She is such a sweet and smiley baby, when she cries we know she really needs something because she hardly ever cries (even though she has reflux.) Her reflux is better off and on. She rolled over a couple of weeks ago and just loves to watch her sister be silly.

My sweet girls

giving kisses

I can't wait to see what Adelyn grows up to be like! If I was to guess now I would say she will be laid back and happy! :)

Smiles Galore!

So, I took a LOT of pictures today! It was a good day! We just started putting Adelyn in the Boppy and she is sooo cute in it!
and here is sweet Annabelle giving her kisses and hugs!

and then we went to the park! I love our neighborhood because there are playgrounds galore but this one is my favorite right now because of the baby swings!

Adelyn was just chilling while Annabelle played
Then she woke up and I decided to swing her and she loooved it!
and here is AB in the other baby swing. She didn't like this one as much.
She might look happy in this picture but I assure you she was not :( She is too independant these days to swing with me.
love this one
and Daddy with his baby girl

After this we went to the mall and Annabelle got compliments on her outfit! (I can't take credit it's from Marmie!) and now we are at home watching LOST! My mom is coming tomorrow! The funny thing is I thought it was today....I am THAT crazy (or sleep deprived) right now! So excited to see her tomorrow!!!!!!!
