The Memphis Children's Museum

We planned a family day at the Children's Museum today. It is Annabelle's absolute favorite place in Memphis and we have been telling her we would take her for a while now.

I love planned family activities. I think it's part of my love for quality time, so today was a special day for me. Adam and I have both been in and out of town and have just been so busy I am thankful for this carved out time to spend just the four of us.

A friend that has a grown child keeps telling me that "four" was her favorite age for her child and I cannot believe we only have a few more months of Annabelle being four. She just seems like such a big girl!

On another note, I feel like The Lord is working in our waiting and I'm thankful. I don't necessarily see any tangible changes in circumstances, but I feel Him moving my heart in ways I have begged Him to for months. I love that my God has the power to literally change my mind and heart. Yesterday I read this verse and it just hit me like a ton of bricks:

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
Psalm 27:13-14

I get excited thinking about what in the world God has in store for our family. I am thankful that I know that God keeps His promises and that His word says: "His plans for us are to prosper us and not to harm us, to keep giving us hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Beach Pics II

I made it back Sunday night from the beach! We had a fabulous time! I have some of the sweetest most generous friends! It was amazing that all of us could make it this year, truly a special memory! I took the opportunity to relax, sleep (a little bit ;) ) and have some great convos with friends who I never get to talk to besides short infrequent phone conversations while taking care of children. Quality time is definitely one of my love languages so I am thankful that God provided this opportunity.

And the funniest of all... All my friends know that my I'm totally brain dead while pregnant. I cannot remember anything and my brain just kind of turns off. Well, Brit and I met in Birmingham and rode the rest of the way to Gulf Shores together and Adam told me just to find somewhere that was 24 hours to leave my car. Well, I did but when I got back to my car 4 hours later, we saw the sign that's the last picture on this post! So thankful my car was still there!!

Beach Pics!

It's been 10 years since we were freshman in college and it was time for a reunion!! It's been wonderful in soooo many ways! Thankful!!

Thankful Tuesday

I have much I need to post about: dance camp and Father's Day but I have run out of time. I head to the beach tomorrow with some dear friends for our "10th anniversary since we pledged our sorority" trip to Florida. :) I'm excited to say the least. So today, I am thankful for the people in my life that The Lord has used to bless me in so many ways. I am thankful that my sweet girls already have sweet little friends that they adore!!

And dare I say today that I am thankful for "the waiting." I feel The Lord using it in my life in many ways, to humble me daily and to constantly remind me that His plan and His timing is ALWAYS best.

28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding.
29 He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound].
30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted;
31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.
Isaiah 40:28-31

Thankful.

Thankful Tuesday

Today I am thankful for all of the "little things" or "little moments" The Lord has orchestrated in my life the past couple of weeks. He has truly blessed us in ways I cannot describe. I feel Him near to me, reassuring me that He is hearing my prayers.

I have been in Matthew these past few weeks and have just been so blessed by all the Holy Spirit is revealing to me. Today's reading included Matthew 6 about not worrying about tomorrow because He supplies all we need today and about seeking first His kingdom and everything we need being given to us. I Receiving those reminders today makes me feel so loved by Him. He is watching out for me, honoring the time I spend in His word by comforting me with His promises.

Although I have no earthly idea what the future holds for our family, today, I am filled with gratitude for His rich blessings in this present moment.

In the morning O Lord, You hear my voice: in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait in expectation. Psalm 5:3

But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded. 2 Chron 15:7

O Lord, there is none like you to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us, O Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name... O Lord, you are our God...
2 Chronicles 14:11-12

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving. Colossians 4:2

May he grant us our heart's desire and fulfill all our plans! Psalm 20:4

That my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever! Psalm 30:12
