Visiting with Memphis Family & Friends

We had a great time visiting with family and friends for the day and a half we were in Memphis. I always love to get together with Jess. We have similar lives and so it is always great to get to chat and an added bonus if it is in person!

Audrey and I have kids the exact same age apart and their personalities are very similar. Also, her husband is a pastor of a church plant and so we also have lots in common!! We went to the park to play and my girls were really clingy because they hadn't seen me and Annabelle got a boo boo that she talked about for hours that day! ha! no seriously! But we did have so much fun just hanging out. I am so thankful for Jess and Audrey's friendships, even if they have to be long distance.
We also go to see Tony, Rachel, Elizabeth, Judah, Rivers, Aunt Toni Jo, and Holly. We loved getting to hold a little baby boy! Such a new experience for us!!

My brother is soooo great with the girls. They just love him. The girls are so blessed to have so many wonderful uncles!

The girls even got to stay over at Gigi and GePaw's house a couple nights and spent lots and lots of time with them while we were in Mexico! How awesome for the girls to get to experience all that love from family! We sure do wish we got to see them more often!

There were more friends that I wish I could have seen like Mo and Bethany but what are you supposed to do with a day and a half?! I plan on going back sometime by myself because I miss Memphis and my friends and family so much (if I can get super duper brave) like maybe in September or August, idk. I'm definitely not making any plans yet.

I am always always thankful for the time we get to spend in Memphis, even if the traveling is hard to do.

Top 10 Things I loved about Vaca

TOP TEN THINGS I LOVED ABOUT MY TRIP TO MEXICO:
1)   Sitting by the beach and having a waiter come and ask me if I need anything every 10-15 minutes.

2)   Spending quality time with good friends that I never get to spend quality time with and something great I'll share later. (No neither of us are pregnant!)

3) Getting good sun but never getting really burned

4)   Adam and I realizing that the only things we really argue about have to do with our kids and therefore didn’t even agitate each other at all on the trip. Getting to spend this quality time with him. He is amazing. really.

5)   Not having to get up at any certain time and all the time I got to sleep!!!

6)   Doing my quite time with the beach in the background.

7) Not having a watch so therefore never knowing what time it was.

8) Having absolutely no responsibility at all!!
9)   All the amazing AUTHENIC Mexican food and my favorite, the guacamole dip.
10) Getting a break from day to day life to just to relax and refocus

Vaca: Part Uno

How do I even start to describe all the fun we had in Mexico. It's impossible! I was so incredibly tired at the start of our trip (in the picture above) because Adelyn had her tubes the morning before and then we hopped in the car and headed to Memphis. Then, the morning we flew out we woke up at 4 again. I was so not worried about it; I was just tired.

Once we flew in to Cancun, we took a ferry to Isla Meujeres. The ferry ride was so awesome!

Once we got there, we found out we were in the presidential suite. We had our own private pool that looked out to the ocean and a HUGE balcony and another small one. It was too amazing. Our room's shower even went out to a balcony. So neat.

The first night we got there, roamed around a bit and then got some dinner. There really wasn't a good picture of me from that night. I was instantly hooked to this place. Look at this sunset!

The second night, we went to this amazing Chinese restaurant that was still free with our "all inclusive" deal but you had to make a reservation. It was soooooo delish!
For dessert, we got fried ice cream. It was amazing!

My sweet friend Crystal, from this post, brought me all of her awesome vacation dresses! I love this blue one! I also loved Kimberly's dress in this picture!!

I have already decided that my next post is going to be something like top top things I enjoyed most about the trip! So much to tell!

I seriously cannot thank Sammy and Kimberly enough for their generosity and friendship. This was a trip we could have never ever taken without them graciously asking us and we seriously had the time of our lives.

We love you Sam and Kimberly. Thank you again.

"Keep Me Sweet"

"You don't just wake up a sweet old lady...You have to start now."

My grandmother "Mimi" or Mrs Voncille is definite proof of this. She sits day in and day out in a chair. Diagnosed with MS she is no longer able to walk. She constantly has a smile on her face and "I've never heard her complain."

"That is a far cry from my prop-me-up-on-the-couch-and-listen-to-me-whine approach to suffering. Suffer in silence? Not me. My misery loves company and a large audience as well. Needless to say my family is not looking forward to my old age and neither am I. It's miserable being miserable."

"Keep me sweet, Lord." Or in my case, make me sweet! Not on the outside, as in what people see or think of me but on the inside when someone hurts my feelings or when I feel like 'things aren't fair.'

"I don't want to be a contentious, demanding, fearful woman. And that means I must get serious about living according to what I know rather than how I feel."

'Blessed is the woman who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him, she will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out it's roots by the stream. It doesn't fear when heat comes, it's leaves are always green. It has no worries in the year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.' Jeremiah 17:7-8

"I want to be like that, so rooted and secure in the Lord that even in times of burning stress and lonely drought, I have no worries! I want me response to be full of faith and not of fear. Instead of griping and groaning, I want to be full of joy and peace!"

This past week, I got to go to Mexico with some of our very best friends, (hence the last post) and I got to spend a few days in Memphis where I met my sweet nephew Miles, spent time with my sweet family and all my in laws. We all went to Adam's parent's lake house. It was a.blast!!!! There were 10 adults and 7 kids (2 still in bellies!) We found out that Christi is pregnant again!!! Yah!!!

Many more posts to come!
