A Godly Wife

I felt "the tug" to look up Proverbs 31 this morning. I have read this passage many times but it never ceases to convict me in some way. Here are some things I wrote down about a Godly wife (coming from the NIV and the Message bible).

A Godly Wife

Her husband has full confidence in her, he trusts her without reserve and will not regret it

Lacks nothing of value

Brings her husband good, not harm all the days of his life

Never spiteful, treats him generously

Gets up early, preparing food and organizing her day

Works vigorously

Opens her arms to the poor

Quick to assist those in need

Diligent in homemaking

Her husband is respected bc of her

Clothes with strength and dignity

Speaks wisdom and faithful instruction

When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say and she always says it kindly

Watches over her household

Is not idle

Children call her blessed and respect her

Husband praises her

Does noble things

Always faces tomorrow with a smile

Fears the Lord

Wow. It's easy to say, ok, I'm going to "do better" on this and this and this but really we just cannot do it on our own. Ok, I'm talking about me here, I cannot do this on my own. My prayer this morning is that the Holy Spirit convict me in the areas I need to change and that HE help me to have the willing Spirit to change and that HE change me from the inside out.

God's word is so good.

Just Me & Adelyn

Well, it's just me & Adelyn for a few days. I think Adelyn really likes being an only child because she was really pretty good yesterday in the car!

This morning I had to wake her up for church; I think she was so exhausted from the trip. We had a fun morning just the two of us but it was really quiet and I just didn't like it as much as I thought it would. Ok, here's the truth. I'm really missing Annabelle!

But, I know this time is special for Adelyn and so I am trying just to focus on her and paying special attention to her while I can. She is such a sweetheart.

Adelyn was really fussy today; I think she is getting her molars! Fun fun! Well, tomorrow our plan is to get the house in order and just hang out together; can't wait! I just love this little girl to death!

Thankful for a Memphis Visit

Two days was just not enough time in Memphis BUT we are so glad we had the chance to go and spend that time with our friends and family! Yesterday Adam's parents went to Little Rock for the annual Critz Family Reunion.

We usually go to Little Rock but we couldn't last year because I was 8 plus months pregnant and this year we needed to come back to Marysville to be back for church because we are missing the Sunday after Christmas.

Adam says that next year we are for sure going to the family reunion. Well just make it happen!! :) See it is much more fun than a usual reunion. The guys play in a golf tournament and the ladies have a walk they go on and then on Saturday night there is a family dance!!

Anyway, back to yesterday. Adam's parents went to Little Rock and my parents went to work so we just hung out and went to do a little shopping.

That afternoon our sweet friends Sammy and Kimberley came and brought us McAllisters AND a check for 1,000!!!!!! Ummm yah, they had spread the word that we needed a new car and people off of Twitter that don't even know us donated money!!! How incredibly awesome! I definitely reared up a bit!! Another reason why technology isn't all that bad huh?!?

Adam and Sam watched the Alabama/Auburn game with my dad, the girls took 3 hours naps!, and me and Kim went to Starbucks!

I am so sad I forgot to get a picture with them!!! That afternoon Jess, Landon, Kaylee, and Peyton came over. Annabelle just LOVES Kaylee! I don't think she remember's her but I could be wrong because they just have a really special friendship; I know that sound funny but I mean you can tell they just really enjoy each other and they even share with one another!!!

Kaylee really liked Adelyn too!! she would laugh and say, "baby." It was so cute!!

I just adore Kaylee's curly hair!!

See what I mean about the love. It was precious!!

Jess was so beautiful! She is one of the greatest people I know!!

I was so glad she brought little Peyton over because I hadn't met her yet!! She was a beautiful, sweet natured little baby! I wish I could be around all of our friends more!!

We are excited we are coming back for Christmas though! We will get to spend a lot of time with Adam's brothers and their children which will be so fun!!

Last night I had some good cuddle time with Annabelle because I knew I was going to have to leave her today. This morning we left Annabelle with Gigi and Gepaw. I boo hoed my eyes out for a few hours! I know she will be fine but I will miss her a whole lot!!! I is so good for the both of us and for Adelyn! I definitely want to do something really fun with Adelyn this week since it is just me and her! Any ideas??

Thankful!

We traveled to Memphis for Thanksgiving this year. We couldn't last year because I was very very pregnant and so we just had to go this year! I am so thankful for so many things this year: my Savior who passionately pursues me daily regardless of how I treat Him, my husband who has put up with a lot and who still loves me the way Christ loves the church, my precious little baby dolls, our church and church family, our extended family, our wonderful house, the fact that I don't have to work, our cars and the fact that we have two, the fact that Adelyn is doing so much better with her "problems" and actually sleeping and sooooo much more!!!! God has incredibly blessed me and may I never forget it!!!

We got in Wednesday night visited with Adam's parents and then went and spent the night at my parent's house. The next day we went to my grandparent's house for Thanksgiving lunch. Adelyn spent a lot of the day like this. She has a cold (poor baby!) and was just a little fussy. :(

Annabelle had a ball getting attention from everyone!

This is my sweet grandmother, Mimi. She has MS and she is in a wheelchair now but she has the best attitude of anyone I've ever met. She definitely has always had an eternal perspective on life!!

Annabelle ate her Thanksgiving lunch on Gepaw's lap! She loved every minute of it (and so did I!) Adelyn was taking her nap and so I actually ate Thanksgiving lunch without having to feed someone else too!!

I got pictures of everyone with food in their mouth! hahaha! It was not really on purpose but it's funny none the less!

My beautiful step mom!

My Uncle Charlie was being a goof as usual. My family is always sooo entertaining in such a great way!!

Sweet Mimi feel asleep in her chair right after this picture. We were laughing about a story about the things they used to give baby's to make them sleep and then we looked at Mimi and she had fallen asleep! It was a "had to be there" story but it was funny if you were there. ha!

Adam and I had such a great time!

and so did Annabelle. She spent so much time talking to her cousin Luke. He was so sweet to her!

Adam tried his first ever pumpkin pie and he liked it! I am so proud of him for venturing out more these days!!

Oh and Annabelle got LOTS of dessert from GePaw. She kept saying, "more whip cream" and of course he gave it to her!

I thought the centerpiece was just gorgeous!!

GiGi GePaw were so very glad we came and spent Thanksgiving with them in Memphis.

After we left my grandparents house we went to Adam's aunt and uncle's house to visit with his family. Poor Annabelle had not had a nap in two days and she fell asleep for about 20 minutes in the car and when she got out she was a little mess. She had had a long trip the day before and she had played her heart out and she was just worn out!! I felt so bad for her!!

After a while, she warmed up to everyone and Marmie read her some books

and she played and played some more!

Marmie and PapaDaddy were soooo glad to see their girls.

After that we went back to my parents to get ready for bed and go to sleep! We were all exhausted!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving with family!!!

My grandfather, Papa, read Psalm 103 before we had Thanksgiving lunch. I wanted to post it here to remember. What a wonderful Psalm!!

Psalm 103

1 Praise the LORD, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2
Praise the LORD, my soul,

and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

6 The LORD works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.

7 He made known his ways to Moses,
his deeds to the people of Israel:
8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.
15 The life of mortals is like grass,
they flourish like a flower of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
and its place remembers it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting
the LORD’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children—
18 with those who keep his covenant
and remember to obey his precepts.

19 The LORD has established his throne in heaven,
and his kingdom rules over all.

20 Praise the LORD, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.
21 Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts,
you his servants who do his will.
22 Praise the LORD, all his works
everywhere in his dominion.

Praise the LORD, my soul.

Happy 11 Month Birthday Adelyn!!!

Sweet Adelyn is 11 months now as of the 20th. She seriously is such a sweetheart!

Adelyn is now standing and walking while holding onto the table. She also stands alone and looks like she wants to take a step but she will only do it while holding our hand. I have no doubt she will be walking before her birthday!!

Adelyn does so good in the nursery at church now. I am so proud of her! She also sleeps about 12 hours a night (not always uninterrupted but hey we will take it!!) I cannot believe she sleeps soooooo much better than she did from months 2-8 and I am beyond thankful for the sleep!!!!

Adelyn follows her sister around everywhere and loves to play and bother her. ha!! :) Adelyn has started getting mad at her and pulling her hair some which is sad and funny. She always looks up at me like she is in trouble. She is getting smart.

Adelyn, LOVES to eat. No one can believe how much you eat. I know it's because you have completely weaned yourself off bottles and you can't have milk because it makes you reflux and bothers your stomach. (Mommy figured this out the hard way!!)

Adelyn has 6 teeth, 4 at the top and 2 at the bottom. It is making her look sooo grown up.

I cannot believe that in less than a month you will be a year old and that my next month blog post will be your birthday!! This year has flown by. Sweet Adelyn, I cannot imagine our family without you in it. Your smiles and grunts just make my day! I love you more than you; quit growing up so fast!!!
